Since our founding in 2012, the Lahore Council for World Affairs has brought together former ambassadors, scholars and engaged citizens around a single conviction: that sound foreign policy begins with informed public debate. We remain deliberately independent of party politics, so that our seminars and publications can speak plainly to the strategic, security and economic questions facing Pakistan.
Every session we convene — whether a closed-door dialogue with a visiting delegation or a public seminar on regional security — is aimed at widening the circle of Pakistanis who can speak knowledgeably about the country's place in the world. The Lahore Council for World Affairs is an independent, non-political, non-partisan and non-profit organization dedicated to a better comprehension of foreign policy issues facing Pakistan and the world — among opinion-makers and the public alike.
Our focus rests particularly on the strategic, security and economic challenges confronting Pakistan, pursued through seminars, conferences, workshops and published commentary drawn from a network of career diplomats and academics.
