Aims & Objectives

 

  • To undertake a wide variety of scholarly activities to produce and disseminate ideas and options on different aspects of Pakistan’s external relations keeping in view the global and regional strategic, political and economic environment.
  • To organize seminars, conferences and workshops to enhance public awareness of major foreign policy issues of concern to Pakistan.
  • To publish books, brochures, pamphlets, journals and papers on important aspects of Pakistan’s foreign relations.
  • To convene meetings where eminent national and international personalities from official and private sectors and other prominent opinion makers can join the Council members to debate and discuss major foreign policy issues of our time.
  • To interact with other scholarly, academic and research organizations within Pakistan and abroad.
  • To provide appropriate inputs where sought to organizers of international events being held in Lahore.
  • To enter into agreements, contracts and other arrangements with governments, organizations, institutions, bodies and individuals for the purpose of carrying out its functions and activities.
  • To maintain a diverse membership to disseminate well-considered views on foreign policy issues among the Pakistani public and opinion makers.
  • To sponsor independent task forces whose reports can help set the public policy agenda relating to foreign policy issues.
  • To maintain regular liaison and interaction with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, diplomatic missions in Islamabad and the Consular Corps in Lahore.
